New Year's Children's Celebration

The Aya Project recently hosted a heartwarming New Year's children's celebration at "La Maison Padre Pio" orphanage, and it was an absolute blast! Our day kicked off with an American-style luncheon, expertly prepared by Maddy, Carrie, and the incredible staff at the home. From scrumptious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to creamy mac & cheese, the kids experienced a taste of something new, sparking mixed reviews and plenty of smiles. But it wasn't just the food that lit up their faces – the juice boxes and extra cookies were a hit too! Knowing that these treats are rare for the children, it was incredibly rewarding to bring a little extra joy into their day.

After lunch, we dove into a lively game of Twister and balloon toss, reveling in the simple joys of laughter and companionship. It was the perfect opportunity for the kids to burn off some energy – and perhaps those extra cookies too!

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, each child received a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies, a fresh toothbrush and toothpaste, soft washcloths, and a special toy. Witnessing their excitement as they eagerly explored their gifts was a moment we'll cherish forever.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, love, and countless unforgettable memories. As we reflect on this heartwarming experience, we're already eagerly anticipating our next event in July, where we'll have the chance to spread even more joy and make a positive impact in the lives of these incredible children.
